Dental implants are designed to provide a foundation for replacement teeth that look, feel, and function like natural teeth. The implants are titanium posts which are surgically placed into the jawbone in the area of the missing teeth. Once the bone bonds with the titanium implant, an implant post or abutment will be placed so it will protrude out from the gum to anchor the replacement teeth. Dental implants can also help preserve facial structure and prevent bone from disappearing in the area of missing teeth. The entire process usually takes about 4-8 months.
Drs. I and Huang undergone special training to perform both aspects of dental implant surgery. Their implant experience earned them Fellowship status from International Congress of Oral Implantologists. During the initial consultation, your specific needs and considerations will be addressed by Drs. I or Huang, or an oral surgeon referred by our practice. We know what the best candidates for dental implants look like. Your questions and concerns are important to us and we will work with you very closely to ensure the procedure is a success.
